If you noticed my name is Charles
Brown, it shouldn't be a great leap for you to guess
that most folks call me 'Charlie'. You can too.
We all have a cross or two that we have to bear through
life. Since I hit the ground as a young 'un I've been
dealing with this 'Charlie Brown" thing. First came
the song Charlie Brown, He's a Clown, followed quickly
by Mr. Schultz's comic strip, Peanuts. After fighting
my way out of grade school it was pretty clear that
I had no future as a pugilist. So I developed a sense
of humor. That worked out much better and still serves
me well today.

On the other
side of the scale is my vocational history. 'Colorful'
probably describes it best. On my thirteenth birthday
I got a lawn mower and an admonishment that no further
allowance was forthcoming. In the next 30 years I had
at least 42 different jobs...rock band roadie, butcher's
assistant, real estate manager, used car salesman, bounty
hunter and commercial painter, to name just a few. I've
been around. I've seen some crap you probably haven't.
I know what the really important things in life are. I
understand personal integrity and responsibility. When
I give my word it means something and when I do a job
the finished product is something I would sign my name
on. I'm not perfect, but I'm steady.
I've been working full time in commercial photography
since the winter of '91. I have one dominant reason for
doing it; I love it. The creative processes, the lighting
challenges, the impossible locations, the art directors,
the art buyers, the talent/location/prop scouting, the
assistants, the interns, the equipment and the marvelous
little tricks you only learn from being out there, doing
it. I love it all. Really. I hope you can see that passion
reflected in my work. What does all this mean to you?
It means that we'll have a great time working together.
I've got talent without the baggage of an 'artistic ego'.
My interest in our project, whatever it may be, is sincere,
and is couched in a desire to have the end product exceed
your expectations. At the same time, I know it's not brain
surgery...we can have a good 'ol time and get the job
done all at once! |
